Il est essentiel de protéger notre lac contre les espèces envahissantes qui pourraient y être introduites. Cela se produit habituellement lorsqu’elles sont transportées d’un plan d’eau à l’autre sur la quille ou dans les eaux de cale d’un bateau. Nous devons donc absolument nous assurer que tout bateau qui entre dans notre lac soit bien lavé auparavant et muni d’un permis attestant de ce lavage.
Ce processus est régi par le règlement municipal 2023-526 qui prévoit des amendes de 1000$ pour le propriétaire de bateau qui ne s’y conforme pas ainsi que 1000$ pour le résident qui permet la mise à l’eau d’une embarcation non conforme à partir de son terrain. L’application de ce règlement se poursuivra cet été.

Le processus de lavage et d’attribution de permis s’applique aux embarcations de toutes sortes et de toutes dimensions incluant canots, kayaks, pédalos, voiliers, planches à voile, planches à pagaie, chaloupes, pontons, radeaux et structures gonflables. Le lavage doit comprendre l’intérieur de la quille, les avirons, moteurs électriques, accessoires, etc.
Il y a trois options:
Les bateaux apportés pour une courte période au lac doivent être lavés à l’une des stations de lavage de la municipalité, moyennant paiement, et porter un certificat valide pour sept jours pour un seul lac.

Les résidents de Wentworth-Nord peuvent obtenir un certificat permanent pour un bateau demeurant en tout temps au lac Notre-Dame. Pour ce faire ils doivent faire laver le bateau à l’une des trois stations de lavage municipales, obtenir ainsi un certificat temporaire et apporter ce certificat ainsi qu’une preuve de résidence à l’hôtel de ville durant les heures normales d’ouverture. Il n’est pas nécessaire d’apporter l’embarcation. Le certificat permanent sera alors remis et doit être collé à un endroit bien visible sur le bateau. Les anciens autocollants qui avaient été distribués il y a plusieurs années sont toujours valides.
Si un résident se fait livrer un quai flottant sur le lac, celui-ci doit être préalablement lavé, tout comme un bateau. S’il est sur une remorque celle-ci doit être lavée égalemen
Bien qu’il soit possible de faire laver les bateaux de visiteurs et d’obtenir un permis temporaire, l’association recommande à tous ses membres de ne pas autoriser leurs visiteurs à apporter leurs propres embarcations. Il est de loin préférable qu’ils utilisent les vôtres ou que vous empruntiez les bateaux de voisins qui sont munis de vignettes permanentes.
Si vous avez déjà un bateau au lac qui n’a pas de permis vous devez l’apporter à une station de lavage pour suivre le processus afin d’obtenir votre certificat permanent.
Si vous voulez mettre à l’eau une embarcation ou un quai flottant via la baie des Grenouilles contactez l’association afin d’obtenir le code permettant d’ouvrir la barrière.
Les embarcations munies d’un certificat permanent sont autorisées également à naviguer sur le lac Saint-Victor puisque les deux sont reliés .
À noter que la procédure que l’association a mise en place l’an dernier pour distribuer les certificats permanents n’était valide que pour la première année d’application du règlement municipal et n’est plus en vigueur.

Avoid the fines
It is very important for the health of our lake that no invasive species are accidentally introduced into the water. One common method for this to happen is when a boat with invasive species attached to its hull or in its bilge water is transported from one body of water to another. Therefore, it is critical that any boat launched in our lake is properly washed beforehand and displays a permit.
This process is mandated by municipal bylaw 2023-526 and violators are subject to a fine of $1,000 for the boat owner and $1,000 for the resident who allowed the boat to be launched from their property. Enforcement will continue this summer.

The washing and permit process applies to boats and docks of any kind and size including canoes, kayaks, pedalos, sailboats, windsurfers, standup paddleboards, rowboats, pontoon boats, rafts and large inflatable play structures. Washing includes the inside of a boat hull and paddles, electric motors, accessories, etc.There are three options:
Boats that are visiting the lake must be washed at one of three municipal stations, pay a fee, and display a certificate that is valid for 7 days on one specific lake only.

Residents of Wentworth-Nord may obtain a certificate for a boat that will remain permanently on one lake by washing it at one of the three municipal washing stations, obtaining a temporary certificate, then taking the certificate to the municipal office in Laurel during business hours along with proof of residency. The boat does not have to be taken to Laurel. A permanent sticker will be issued which must be affixed to the boat in a visible place. The old-style yellow stickers issued many years ago remain valid.
If a resident is delivering a floating dock to the lake, it must be washed just like a boat. If it is being delivered on a trailer, the trailer must also be washed.
Even though this process exists for washing visiting boats, the lake association recommends that you do not permit your visitors to bring their own boats. It is much better that they use your boats or that you borrow a permanent boat from a neighbour.
If you have a permanent boat on the lake without a permit, you must go through the process of getting it washed at a municipal station and obtaining a permanent sticker.
If you want to launch a boat or dock at Froggy Bay, contact the lake association to receive the code to unlock the gate.
Boats with permanent stickers issued for Lac Notre-Dame are permitted to travel into Lac St-Victor and back since it is connected.
The process of obtaining permanent stickers from the lake association was a special procedure last summer only and is no longer in place.
